(Valley Forge, Pa.) – Building and design professionals can now take fiber cement exterior cladding designs to a whole new level, thanks to a partnership between CertainTeed Corporation and Easytrim Reveals™. Specially engineered to work with WeatherBoards™ fiber cement siding, the Easytrim Reveals aluminum trim wall system provides a clean, visually attractive exterior surface with crisp horizontal and vertical panel transitions for contemporary applications. The system offers an easy-to-install, eye-catching, and inexpensive way to clad residential and commercial exteriors with excellent weatherizing performance.
“Both WeatherBoards and Easytrim Reveals offer a superior product with better aesthetics and better performance than the competition,” says Robert Clark, marketing manager for the CertainTeed Siding Products Group. “The partnership provides building professionals a clear fiber cement / reveal trim pairing that provides a very appealing exterior look, while offering an alternative to stucco for modern light commercial and multi-family applications.”
Easytrim Reveals profiles promote full artistic expression for architects and designers that want to incorporate WeatherBoards lap and panel siding with an ultra-modern panel reveal design while maintaining consistent, flowing architectural lines. Panel profiles incorporate fit-and-finish elements that allow horizontal profiles to slide into vertical profiles ensuring uniform, caulk-free and hassle-free installations. A patent-pending ez.bump™ moisture management feature has been integrated into all Easytrim Reveal pre-built corners and vertical “J” trim profiles, which helps create a drainage gutter that collects and channels water away from the wall and will stand up to all challenging weather conditions. Horizontal profiles have been engineered with ez.plane™ technology and creates an 8 degree sloped surface to drain water away from the inset WeatherBoards and the wall.
“Along with the company’s robust distribution channels, one of the many reasons we chose to team up with CertainTeed is the aesthetics of WeatherBoards, which have by far the smoothest fiber cement panels available and authentic woodgrain textures long considered the best in the industry,” says David Bovell, director of sales and marketing for Easytrim Reveals. “Our evolutionary product allows WeatherBoards to be installed in an attractive manner because of the symmetry of our ½-inch tab, ½-inch reveal, ½-inch tab design of our primary vertical and horizontal profiles and the consistent architectural lines they produce. We also share a commitment to advanced product design, world-class product performance, and unparalleled beauty.”
WeatherBoards fiber cement siding features CertainTeed’s exclusive TrueTexture™ system, which utilizes a direct transfer system from real cedar boards to create an authentic wood appearance. The product has a Class A (1) flame spread rating and is impact-resistant, impervious to wood-boring insects, resists UV rays and will not rot.
Easytrim Reveals are made of durable 6063-T5 commercial-grade aluminum and are anodized in two colors that meet Architectural Class II requirements. The finish provides a hard, durable, weather–resistant surface that protects the base metal, is unaffected by sunlight and cannot peel or flake. The product line includes eleven 5/16-inch panel profiles and four ¾-inch LAP profiles — all with 10-foot lengths.
Both Easytrim Reveals and WeatherBoards are backed by industry-leading warranties. Easytrim Reveals trim is backed by a 15-year warranty and WeatherBoards carries an industry-leading 50-year limited transferable product warranty, a 15-year ColorMax® stain or solid color coating warranty and a two-year SureStart™ protection covering both labor and materials.
Easytrim Reveals trim products are 100 percent recyclable and WeatherBoards is the only fiber cement siding with a third-party validated life cycle assessment, is NAHB Green Approved and third-party certified for recycled content by GreenCircle™ Certified, LLC.
